SK Gupta assumes charge as CMD of MSTC Limited

SK Gupta, who was serving as ED at Indian Railways Stores Service, has assumed charge as Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of MSTC Limited

New Delhi: Surinder Kumar Gupta has assumed charge as Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of MSTC Limited, a Miniratna PSU under the Ministry of Steel, on Tuesday. The tenure of Gupta shall be up to the date of his superannuation till December 31, 2023, or until further orders, whichever is earlier, the company said in a regulatory filing to the stock exchange. Prior to this, Gupta was serving as Executive Director at Indian Railways Stores Service.

Gupta was recommended for the post of CMD of MSTC Limited by a Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on July 17. He was selected from a list of 10 candidates, who were interviewed by the selection panel. With this, Gupta has replaced Bam Bahadur Singh, who was serving as MSTC CMD.

MSTC Limited, formerly known as Metal Scrap Trade Corporation Limited, is an Indian state-owned e-commerce company based in Kolkata, West Bengal.

MSTC renders service to various e-commerce sectors, including e-auction, e-procurement, high sea sales, e-sales, and retail software. MSTC recently developed software to conduct an online draw for new LPG distributorship scheme which was conducted by state-run oil marketing companies all over India. MSTC is also in the process of developing an online portal on behalf of the government for selling state-owned entities through an English auction system.
