Sukhmal Kumar Jain set to be next Director (Marketing) of BPCL

The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel has recommended the name of Sukhmal Kumar Jain for the post of Director (Marketing) of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL)

New Delhi: Sukhmal Kumar Jain is set to be the next Director (Marketing) of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MoNPG). He has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on Friday. Presently, he is serving as Executive Director (Other Units) in the same organisation.

Jain has been recommended for the post of Director (Marketing) of BPCL from the list of 10 candidates, who were interviewed by the PESB selection panel in its selection meeting held on April 22. Out of 10 candidates, six candidates were from BPCL, two candidates from Indian Oil Corporation Limited and one each from Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) and India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC).

Jain is an alumnus of Delhi College of Engineering. He completed a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) from the Delhi College of Engineering in 1986. He has been serving in BPCL since February 1987.

As Director (Marketing) of BPCL, Jain will be a member of the Board of Directors and will report to the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD). He will be responsible for formulating marketing strategies for all products of BPCL, keeping in view the international market trends and fast-changing technological and economic development. He will also be responsible for conceiving and executing marketing strategies and activities for ensuring adherence to the medium-term and long-term growth and profitability projections of the organisation.
