Taj Mukarrum set to be Director (Finance) of POWERGRID

Mohammed Taj Mukarrum, who is currently serving as ED in POWERGRID, has been recommended for the post of Director (Finance) at the PSU

New Delhi: Mohammed Taj Mukarrum is set to be next Director (Finance) of Powergrid Corporation of India Limited, a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Power. Mukarrum's name has been recommended by a Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on Thursday. He is currently serving as Executive Director (Finance) in POWERGRID's corporate headquarters in Gurugram.

Mukarrum has been recommended for the post of Director (Finance) of POWERGRID by the PESB from a list of seven candidates, who were interviewed by the selection panel. A total of five candidates including Mukarrum, who were on the list, were from POWERGRID and two candidates were from the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) and NTPC Limited.

Powergrid Corporation of India Limited, also known as POWERGRID, is a state-owned electric utility company headquartered in Gurugram. It is a Maharatna PSU under the administrative control of the Ministry of Power. The company transmits about 50 percent of the total power generated in India through the transmission network. Its former subsidiary company Power System Operation Corporation Limited (POSOCO) handles power management for the national grid and all state transmission utilities.
