VK Singh assumes charge as Director (Personnel) of POWERGRID

New Delhi: Vinod Kumar Singh has assumed the charge of Director (Personnel) of Powergrid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) on Saturday. Prior to his joining as Director (Personnel), he worked as Senior General Manager (Human Resource Development) handling flagship projects such as capacity building, restructuring policies & procedures for the NER States, strategic alliances pertaining to learning & development for employees as well as external customers.

The PSU Watch had reported that Singh was recommended by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on September 25, 2019, and the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) approved his appointment as Director (Personnel) of POWERGRID on December 27, 2019.

Education & background

Singh is an alumnus of India's premier management institute Xavier Institute of Social Services (XISS), Ranchi, from where he completed his postgraduation in Personnel Management. Singh started his professional career in 1985 with a US-based MNC followed by a stint with a leading PSU, National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC Limited). Since his joining in POWERGRID in 1992, he has worked in all facets of HR including Amalgamation, Turnaround and Culture Building, which gave him exposure to the entire gamut of the company's business at different levels. Singh has been a part of the exponential growth of POWERGRID and witnessed the organisation grow into a Maharatna, during his career spanning over three decades.
