AK Singh appointed as Chairman and RK Jain as Additional Director of IGL

The Board of Directors of Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) have approved the appointment of Arun Kumar Singh as Chairman and RK Jain as an Additional Director of the company

New Delhi: The Board of Directors of Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) have approved the appointment of Arun Kumar Singh as Additional Director & Chairman of the company. He has been appointed on the IGL board with effect from January 14. This information has been shared by IGL during regulatory filing to the stock exchange on Thursday.  "Arun Kumar Singh, a nominee of BPCL is Director (Marketing) of BPCL. He has no relationship with other Directors and he is not debarred from holding the office of Director by virtue of any SEBI order or any such authority." IGL said in the regulatory filing to the bourses.

Singh is a Mechanical Engineer with the first rank from the National Institute of Technology, Patna. During his illustrious career, he has headed various Business Units and Entities in BPCL, like Retail, LPG, Pipelines, Supply Chain Optimization, etc. and has experience of over 35 years.

Further, the Board of Directors has also approved the appointment of RK Jain as an Additional Director with effect from January 14. Prior to this, he was serving as Executive Director (F&A) of GAIL (India) Limited. "RK Jain is Executive Director (F&A) of GAIL India Ltd. He has no relationship with other Directors and he is not debarred from holding the office of Director by virtue of any SEBI order or any such authority," IGL informed to BSE.

Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) is one of India's leading natural gas distribution companies. IGL supplies natural gas as cooking and vehicular fuel. The company was established in 1998 and operates primarily in Delhi. The company has taken over and operated the Delhi City Gas Distribution Project from Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL) for laying a network of gas distribution pipelines in Delhi. The company started as a joint venture between GAIL, Bharat Petroleum and the government of NCT of Delhi.
