Amrut Mahotsav: Power Grid commissions Chandauti substation in Bihar

New Delhi/Chandauti: State-run Maharatna power PSU Power Grid has commissioned a 400/220/132 kV sub-station in Chandauti, Bihar, as part of the Bharat ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, which mark 75 years of independence. The sub-station shall have a transformation capacity of 2,100 MVA. The substation will be a major link between the inter-state transmission system (ISTS) and the state network of Bihar.

This sub-station shall be connected with ISTS at the existing 765/400 kV Gaya sub-station of Power Grid at one end and Nabinagar (3×660 MW) generation project at other end through high capacity 400 kV double circuit lines.

Thus, the Chandauti sub-station shall help in bringing additional power from National Grid and Nabinagar generation project to Gaya, Rohtas and Aurangabad districts with security and reliability, by supplying power to the existing sub-stations of BSPTCL located at Chandauti, Bodhgaya, Rafiganj and Sonenagar. The sub-station shall be connected to the 765/400 kV Gaya sub-station and shall further strengthen the National Grid interconnection of the state.
