Anant Kumar Singh (IPS) gets additional charge as CVO of Oil India

New Delhi: The Central Government has assigned the additional responsibility of Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of Oil India Limited (OIL) to Anant Kumar Singh (IPS). He is a 1994-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the Madhya Pradesh cadre. Singh is currently serving as CVO of Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL). He is also holding the additional charge as CVO of ONGC Limited since June 9.

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Anant Kumar Singh has been given additional charge of the OIL's CVO post for a period of six months with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the post or till the appointment of a regular CVO or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

In a separate order issued on the same day, the government has also extended the tenure of Anant Kumar Singh as CVO of ONGC for three months. According to the DoPT order, the services of Singh as CVO of ONGC have been extended for a further period of three months beyond December 12, 2021, or till the appointment of a regular CVO or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Singh holds a Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering from IIT (ISM) Dhanbad. He has also served as District SP in six districts which include Bhopal & Jabalpur and also served as zonal IG at Jabalpur. He has worked in Intelligence Branch, Planning branch of Police, Lokayukta Sangathan of Madhya Pradesh Government. On deputation to the Central Government, he has worked as DIG and IG in CISF.

Singh is a recipient of the Police Medal for Gallantry, Police Medal for Meritorious Service and President's Police Medal for distinguished service.
