Arun Kumar Singh assumes charge as CMD of BPCL

New Delhi: Arun Kumar Singh has assumed charge as Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) with effect from September 7, 2021. Prior to this, he was serving as Director (Marketing) in the same Maharatna PSU. According to an earlier order from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), he has been appointed to the post for a period with effect from the date of his assumption of charge of the post till the date of his superannuation, i.e, October 31, 2022, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Singh is a Mechanical Engineer with the first rank from the National Institute of Technology, Patna. He has vast experience of about 36 years in the oil sector. He has headed various positions in BPCL in retail, LPG, pipelines, supply chain optimisation. He has also held the position of President (Africa & Australasia) in Bharat PetroResources Ltd (BPRL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of BPCL. He was also a Director on the board of Bharat Gas Resources Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of BPCL. In December 2020, Singh was given the additional charge of Director Refineries at BPCL.
