BEML bags order from Coal India for 20 Cu. M Electric Rope Shovel

New Delhi: Defence PSU BEML Limited has signed a contract with Coal India Limited (CIL) for the supply of 20 Cu. M Electric Rope Shovel for deployment in the mines of Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL). The contract is valued at Rs 118 crore.

This 20 Cu. M Electric Rope Shovel is designed and developed indigenously by BEML under 'Atmanirbhar Bharat.' This project would not only enable the country to achieve self-reliance in this class of product but also save huge outgoing foreign exchange.

The Shovel is powered by an all-electric powertrain that will not lead to any carbon footprints on the environment.  The design of this green energy machine conforms with global standards in safety, operator comfort and low maintenance.

This mega equipment features advanced IGBT based AC drives integrated with predictive maintenance, a production monitoring system, a safety red line lighting system for the proximity of Dumpers and remote monitoring.
