Bharathan S set to be next Director (Refineries) of HPCL

Bharathan S has been recommended for the post of Director (Refineries) of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL)

New Delhi: Bharathan S has been recommended for the post of Director (Refineries) of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MoPNG). He has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on Thursday. Currently, he is serving as Executive Director in the same organisation. He is also on the board of HPCL Biofuels Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary company of HPCL.

Bharathan has been recommended for the post of Director (Refineries) of HPCL from a list of eight candidates, who were interviewed by the PESB selection panel in its selection meeting held on Thursday. Out of eight candidates, six candidates were from HPCL and one each from Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited (CPCL) and Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL).

As Director (Refineries) of HPCL, Bharathan will be a member of the Board of Directors and will report to the Chairman & Managing Director (CMD). He will head the various business units in the refining sector and will be responsible for the safe, efficient and profitable operation of refineries and for meeting the product requirements of the corporation's marketing operations. He will also be responsible for developing short-term and long-term plans for enhancing the productivity of the refineries and ensuring their implementation.
