Binay Krushna Mahapatra set to be Director (Commercial) of KIOCL Limited

PESB panel has recommended the name of Binay Krushna Mahapatra for the post of Director (Commercial) of KIOCL Limited

New Delhi: Binay Krushna Mahapatra is set to be the next Director (Commercial) of KIOCL Limited, a PSU under the Ministry of Steel. He has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on Saturday. He is currently serving as Group General Manager in National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO).

Mahapatra has been recommended for the post of Director (Commercial) of KIOCL from a list of four candidates, who were interviewed by the PESB selection panel. The candidates who were on the list were one each from KIOCL Limited, National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO), Braithwaite & Co. Ltd. and Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL).

Director (Commercial) of KIOCL, Mahapatra will be a member of the Board of Directors and will report to the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD). He will be responsible for all commercial activities of the company comprising materials management, marketing and shipment. He will also be responsible for the implementation of the decisions of the Board relating to the above-mentioned areas of work.

KIOCL Limited, formerly 'Kudremukh Iron Ore Company Limited' is a Miniratna PSU under the Ministry of Steel of Government. KIOCL has its head office and administrative activities in Bangalore. It has a pelletisation plant in Mangalore and had an iron ore mine in Kudremukh (Chikkamagaluru district). The Kudremukh mine, one of the largest iron ore mines in the world, was closed in 2006.
