MTNL Board of Directors re-appoints these Directors on its board

The Board of Directors of MTNL has re-appointed Sunil Kumar, Navneet Gupta, Suresh Kumar Gupta as Directors on its board

New Delhi: The Board of Directors of MTNL Limited in its meeting held on December 31, has re-appointed the following officers on its board. The re-appointments have been made by the telecom PSU upon shareholders' consent. The majority of shareholders voted in favor of the resolution. All the directors, who have been re-appointed, were eligible for the re-appointment, the PSU informed in a filing to the stock exchange.

1.    Sunil Kumar, who retires by December 31, has been re-appointed as Director (HR & EB) of the company. 
2.    Navneet Gupta, who retires by December 31, has been re-appointed as Govt. Nominee Director of the company.
3.    Suresh Kumar Gupta who was earlier appointed as an Additional Director by the President on the Board of the company and holds office up-to-the-date of AGM, has been re-appointed as Director (Finance) of the company.

Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) is a state-owned telecommunications service provider and a wholly-owned subsidiary of BSNL, headquartered in New Delhi. MTNL provides services in the metro cities of Mumbai and New Delhi in India and in the island nation of Mauritius in Africa. The company had a monopoly in Mumbai and New Delhi until 1992 when the telecom sector was opened to other service providers. The government of India currently holds 57 percent shares in the company with the rest being held by public and institutional investors.
