BPCL organises biofuel exhibition in Pune

New Delhi: Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) has organised an exhibition on the biofuels industry to showcase the technological advancement in the field and display initiatives. The exhibition, set up at Government Sports Complex, Balewadi, Pune was inaugurated on Monday by BPCL's Executive Director (Retail) PS Ravi in presence of the Commissioner of Sports, Govt. of Maharashtra Omprakash Bakoria (IAS). The exhibition was organised on behalf of the oil industry in Maharashtra to promote biofuels as alternative petroleum products.

The senior officials of the oil industry attended the inauguration event. Other sessions of the exhibition included a program skit from local artists, performances by school children in essay and painting competitions as well as interactions with engineering college students and farmers over usage of biofuels as an alternative petroleum product. The school children were also presented with prizes following a competition.

The exhibition also displayed 1G Ethanol plant, Biodiesel Plant, 2G Ethanol Plant & CBG Plant. Praj Industries, Noble Exchange and Maharashtra Natural Gas had put up stalls to showcase various initiatives taken by them to promote biofuels. The Exhibition was attended by around 550 participants from the oil industry, academicians, entrepreneurs, students, farmers and other relevant stakeholders from various parts of Maharashtra.
