Braithwaite & Co. Ltd records highest ever turnover and profit in FY 2020-21

Braithwaite & Co. Ltd (BCL) has registered the highest ever sales and profit during the financial year FY 2020-21, surpassing all its previous records

New Delhi: Braithwaite & Co. Ltd (BCL), a PSU under the Ministry of Railways, has announced its financial performance for the fiscal year FY 2020-21. The board of directors of the company have adopted the audited annual accounts of the company for the FY 2020-21 on June 24. 

During FY 2020-21, the Braithwaite registered the highest ever sales and profit by surpassing all its previous records, notwithstanding the ongoing COVID situation and perils due to Amphan Cyclone in West Bengal. During the period the company has achieved sales of Rs 609.60 crore against Rs 579.17, which was registered in the previous financial year i.e. FY 2019-20, thus registering a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 46.90 percent.

The profit before tax (PBT) of the company has also gone up to Rs 31.07 crore in FY 2020-21 against Rs 23.97 crore in the previous financial year, registering a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 85.93 percent.

Braithwaite & Co. Ltd (BCL) is a Central Public Sector Undertaking (C-PSU) under the Ministry of Railways. The company is engaged in manufacturing and repairing railway wagons, structural fabrication, cranes manufacturing, civil projects, foundry products etc. As of March 31, 2021, the total net worth of the company is Rs 108.17 crore. The company has three units – Clive Works, Victoria Works both in Calcutta and Angus Works in Hooghly District, West Bengal.
