Cmde (Retd) PR Hari set to be next CMD of GRSE

Cmde (Retd) PR Hari, who is currently serving as Director (Personnel), has been recommended for the post of CMD of GRSE

New Delhi: Commodore (Retd) PR Hari is set to be the next Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE), a Minirtana PSU under the Ministry of Defence. He has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on Saturday. He is currently serving as Director (Personnel) in the same organisation.

Cmde Hari has been recommended for the post of CMD of GRSE from a list of five candidates, who were interviewed by the selection panel in its selection meeting held on Saturday. There were a total of two candidates, including Cmde Hari, who were from GRSE. There was one candidate each from Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL), Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) and Indian Navy.

Cmde Hari holds a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and a Master's Degree in Defence and Strategic Studies. He is also an alumnus of the Defence Services Staff College and the Naval War College. He has over 28 years of commissioned service in the Indian Navy with varied experience onboard warships, Naval Repair Organisations and various staff appointments. He has been serving as Director (Personnel) of GRSE since October 21, 2019.

As CMD of GRSE, Cmde Hari will be the Chief Executive of the company and will be accountable to its board of directors and the government and shareholders. He will be responsible for the efficient functioning of the company, and for achieving its corporate objectives and performance parameters, promoting indigenisation under the 'Atma Nirbhar' scheme of the government.
