New Delhi: Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has handed over 825 vessels for food distribution to Akshaya Patra Foundation for the NGO's Bellary kitchen on Thursday as part of the company's corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities.

BEL has supported Akshay Patra Foundation's Mid-day Meal scheme in the past by donating food distribution vans with essential food containers for their kitchens located in Mangalgiri in Andhra Pradesh and Vrindavan in Uttar Pradesh.

BEL has been a forerunner among Defence PSUs in promoting societal development. As a corporate entity, BEL actively participates in the social and economic development of communities in which it operates through CSR. BEL’s CSR activities are aimed at inclusive growth, holistic community development and empowerment of marginalised and underprivileged sections.
