Two CVOs Bir Singh Negi (IDAS) & Arup Das (ITS) get additional charge of these PSUs

New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal for the entrustment of the additional charge of the post of Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) Limited. According to an order from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Negi has been appointed to the post for a period co-terminus with his tenure as CVO of MMTC Limited i.e. up-to September 24, 2022, or till the appointment of a regular CVO in IREDA or till further orders, whichever is the earliest. Currently, he is serving as CVO of MMTC Limited.

Negi is an Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS) officer of the 1994 batch. Currently, he is serving as CVO of MMTC Limited, since July 2017. Negi is an art graduate (BA) from the Govt PG Collage Dharmsala of Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla. He has also done a Master's in Art from the International Institute of Social Studies. 

In another order issued on the same day, ACC has also approved the proposal for entrustment of the additional charge of the post of CVO in the Braithwaite, Burn & Jessop Construction Company Limited (BBJ), Kolkata to Arup Das (ITS). Das is an Indian Telecommunications Service (ITS) officer of 1997-batch. He is currently serving as CVO of Andrew Yule & Company Limited. According to the order Das has been given additional charge for a period co-terminous with his deputation tenure as CVO of AYCL, i.e. up-to August 22, 2022, or till the appointment of a regular CVO in BBJ or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) Limited

Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited (IREDA) is a Miniratna PSU under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE). It was established as a non-banking financial institution in 1987. IREDA is engaged in promoting, developing, and extending financial assistance for setting up projects relating to new and renewable sources of energy and energy efficiency and conservation.

Braithwaite, Burn & Jessop Construction Company (BBJ)

The Braithwaite Burn & Jessop Construction Company Limited (BBJ Construction Company) is a PSU company under the administrative control of the Department of Heavy Industries. The company was established on January 26, 1935. BBJ has been involved in the construction and repairing of Rail Bridges & Rail-cum-Road Bridges, Industrial structural works, Large building foundation, Civil engineering works, Refinery piping works, Railway gauge conversion etc.
