Dr DK Sunil set to be next Director (Engineering and R&D) of HAL

Dr DK Sunil, who is currently serving as Chief Designer, has been recommended for the post of Director (Engineering and R&D) of HAL

New Delhi: Dr DK Sunil is set to be the next Director (Engineering and R&D) of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), a Navratna PSU under the Ministry of Defence. He has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on Thursday. He is currently serving as Chief Designer in the same organisation.

Dr Sunil has been recommended for the post of Director (Engineering and R&D) of HAL from a list of five candidates, who were interviewed by the PESB selection panel in its selection meeting held on Thursday. All the candidates, who were on the list were from HAL.

Dr DK Sunil is an Engineering Graduate (Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Communications Engineering) from Osmania University and Post-Graduated in Engineering (M Tech) from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. He has also done Ph D in Electronics from the University of Hyderabad. He has been serving as Chief Designer in HAL since July 2021.

As Director (Engineering and R&D) of HAL, Dr Sunil will be a member of the Board of Directors and will report to Chairman and Managing Director (CMD). He shall manage and ensure effective and efficient implementation of all Research & Development (R&D), Design & Development (D&D), Project Development and development of new products and technologies. He will be the Functional Head of all R&D centres of the company and will be responsible for the fulfilment of the company's objectives pertaining to R&D and D&D Projects.
