Girl Empowerment Mission 2019 Inaugurated at NTPC Dadri

Under NTPC's CSR initiative called Girl Empowerment Mission-2019 programme, 110 girls have been chosen for their learnings and personal grooming

Dadri: The Girl Empowerment Mission-2019(GEM) programme inaugurated by R. S. Rathee, Regional Executive Director (DBF/Hydro) with Sunita Rathee on May 27. The Programme will last for a month. The Girl Empowerment Mission-2019 is NTPC's CSR initiative in which a certain number of girls are chosen from surrounding areas for their personal learning and grooming for one month. 

In his inaugural address, Rathee mentioned about the importance of the programme, designed for grooming the young girls from village schools to bring them into the mainstream. He further said that the GEM programme aims to give exposure to girl students from villages by providing quality inputs related to academics, personality development, health, hygiene and grooming. Speaking on the occasion A.K. Das, Chief General Manager (Dadri) said that NTPC has been committed for the development of surroundings of the power station. Das mentioned that GEM platform will provide an opportunity to the girl students for their overall grooming towards valuable learnings for their bright future.

Vijaya Lakshmi Muralidharan, AGM (HR), Dadri also gave an overview of the Girl Empowerment Mission, a CSR initiative organized for the girl students for their learnings and personal grooming. As many as 110 girl students from 21 nearby schools have been enrolled at NTPC Dadri.

The kits of stationary items and items for their use were also provided to the students. G.C Surdeo, GM (HR), DBF-HQ, Pradipta Das, President, Jagriti Samaj, Head of departments, senior officials also graced the occasion. A variety of cultural programmes were also presented with messages related to Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao, Swachhata and National integration.
