HPCL bags three awards at 8th Governance Now PSU Awards

New Delhi: Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) has received three awards by Governance Now during a clinquant virtual function at the 8th PSU Awards. Former Lt. Governor of Puducherry Dr Kiran Bedi (IPS) has presented 'Investment in Startups Award' to HPCL's Executive Director (Corporate Strategy & Planning and Business Development) Rajnish Mehta, conferred 'Digital Transformation Leader (CIO) Award' to HPCL's Executive Director (Information Systems) Rajiv Chandra and felicitated HPCL's Chief General Manager {Public Relations and Corporate Communication (PRCC)} Rajeev Goel who was conferred with 'Communication Leader Award.'

These awards by Governance Now recognise and felicitate outstanding efforts of the PSUs who have been a key to the country's meteoric growth since independence. This year's awards focused on the work carried out by the various PSUs during the Pandemic who contributed significantly towards India's fight against the COVID-19.

HPCL's startup initiative program, 'Udgam' enables innovators & entrepreneurs to pursue a promising idea, establish and validate proof of concept (POC) and support commercialisation. HPCL is currently working with many startups and have helped innovators and entrepreneurs commercially implement their workable ideas, thus fueling innovation in the nation, especially during the Pandemic.

With work from home and carrying out operations, remotely becoming the new normal during the Pandemic, HPCL's IS team provided quintessential support to the corporation to quickly adapt to the changing scenario. This enabled the corporation to serve the nation uninterrupted even during the lockdown.

HPCL's PRCC Department has shown exemplary efforts during the Pandemic by carrying out effective internal and external communication to not only spread the message of COVID-19 appropriate behaviour to the general public but also kept the corporation informed, engaged and invigorated towards country's fight against the Pandemic. PRCC spearheaded HPCL's 'Unite2FightCorona' campaign, which saw taking the message of COVID-19 appropriate behaviour to over seven crore citizens thru various ATL & TTL Mediums, reemphasizing HPCL as a socially responsible corporate.
