IRCON bags a major order from Indian Railways

Ircon International Limited (IRCON) has bagged an order worth Rs 187.80 crore for replacement of mechanical signalling at various locations at Moradabad from Indian Railways

New Delhi: Ircon International Limited (IRCON) has secured an order worth Rs 187.80 crore from Indian Railways for the replacement of mechanical signalling at various locations at Moradabad of the Northern Railway zone. In a regulatory filing to the stock exchange on Wednesday, IRCON informed that it has been awarded the work for replacement of mechanical signaling at various locations at the cost of Rs 187.80 crore. The tenure for the execution of the works is 24 months. This work has been awarded on a competitive bidding basis among PSUs by the Northern Railways, Ministry of Railways, IRCON added.

Earlier, in December 2020, IRCON had successfully opened the 30 KM section between Korichhapar to Dharamjaigarh within the targeted date of December 12, 2020. A Trial run was also carried out on December 31, 2020. IRCON had concluded Rs 750 crore Kharsia-Dharamjaigarh project by completing this 30 Km section.

Ircon International Limited (IRCON) is an engineering and construction organisation, specialized in transport infrastructure. The PSU was established in 1976, by the government under the Indian Companies Act 1956. IRCON was registered as the Indian Railway Construction International Ltd., a wholly (100%) owned entity of the Ministry of Railways. Its primary charter was the construction of railway projects in India and abroad. IRCON has since diversified into other transport and infrastructure segments and with its expanded scope of operations around the world, the name was changed to Indian Railway International Ltd. in October 1995.
