Jai Prakash Dwivedi takes charge as the new Director (Technical) in WCL

New Delhi: JP Dwivedi has assumed charge as the Director (Technical) of Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) on Friday. Before taking charge as Director (Technical), Dwivedi was General Manager (Coordination) at the WCL Headquarters in Nagpur. He was recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on October 9, 2021.

Dwivedi has over 35 years of experience in opencast and underground coal mining. After completing his graduation in mining engineering from IIT-BHU Varanasi, Dwivedi started his career in Coal India Limited (CIL) as a mining engineer in year 1986. During his tenure in CIL, he has served SECL, ECL and NCL before joining WCL.

He has undergone several training programmes in India and abroad. He was conferred with the 'Best Engineer Award' by the Institution of Engineers for his outstanding work in the field of mining.

WCL's Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) Manoj Kumar, Director (Personnel) Dr Sanjay Kumar and other senior officers offered their wishes on the occasion.

"The long and rich experience of JP Dwivedi in Coal Mining will definitely benefit Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) in times to come," a press release from the WCL said.
