New Delhi: The Ministry of Steel has approved the appointment of K Jayaprasad as an Independent Director on the Board of Steel Authority of India (SAIL). According to an order issued by the Ministry of Steel, Jayaprasad has been appointed as Independent Director on the Board of SAIL with effect from April 26, 2022. This information has been shared by the Maharatna steel giant in a regulatory filing to the stock exchanges on Wednesday.

Jayaprasad is a Post Graduate and Ph D in Political Science. He is Pro Vice-Chancellor (Former) and Professor of the Department of International Relations & Politics at the Central University of Kerala. He has over 31 years of teaching experience. He is also an able administrator and has held positions of Vice-Chancellor, Finance Officer (Full Charge) at the Central University of Kerala in past. He has held various positions like President of the Indian Political Science Association (IPSA), Dean of School of Global Studies and School of Cultural Studies among others.
