New Delhi: The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) Additional Secretary Kamran Rizvi (IAS), who holds an additional charge as Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of HUDCO, has been given another tenure extension for a period of six months. According to an order issued by the MoHUA, Kamran Rizvi (IAS) has been given tenure extension for a further period of six months with effect from October 22, or till a regular incumbent joins the post, or until further orders, whichever is the earlier.

This information has been shared by the HUDCO in a regulatory filing to the stock exchange on Tuesday.

Rizvi is a 1991-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Uttar Pradesh cadre. He has done his B Tech and M Tech in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Delhi and subsequently joined Indian Civil Services. He has about 28 years of rich experience as a Civil Servant. He has served in various important capacities both in the state and the central governments. In Uttar Pradesh, he has served in important Ministries and departments in various capacities and some remarkable positions include Principal Secretary, Secretary, Development Commissioner, Commissioner, Director General, Chairman-cum-Managing Director and Secretary to the Chief Minister.

Rizvi joined the Ministry of Rural Development, first as Joint Secretary and then elevated to Additional Secretary in the Department of Rural Development and hugely contributed to the World's largest employment program i.e. MGNREGA by using ICT and Innovation. Presently, he is serving as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
