N Manoharan appointed as an Independent Director on RailTel Board

New Delhi: N Manoharan has been appointed as an independent director on the Board of Railtel Corporation of India (RailTel), a Miniratna PSU under the Ministry of Railways. As per communications received from the Ministry of Railways, the Board of Directors of RailTel have approved the appointment of Manoharan as an Independent Director on the board of the company with effect from November 9, 2021. This information has been shared by the Railway PSU in a regulatory filing to the stock exchanges on Monday.

Manoharan is an Engineering Graduate in Mechanical Engineering from Bharathiyar University, Coimbatore. He has done a Master of Engineering Management from Duke University, North Carolina, USA. The new independent director has over 20 years of hands-on experience in engineering, technology, management/business consulting, and experience in building engineering services teams with global standards.

His main areas of experience include product design & development, product management, business process improvement, and supply chain management. Manoharan has worked in Consumer Products, Heavy Equipments & Machinery, Life Science & Laboratory Products, Analytical Instruments and Automation & Control industries. Manoharan has entrepreneurial experience along with techno-commercial capabilities.

RailTel is a Miniratna PSU under the Ministry of Railways. It is an ICT provider and one of the largest neutral telecom infrastructure providers in the country owning a Pan-India optic fibre network on exclusive Right of Way (RoW) along Railway track. The OFC network covers all important towns & cities of the country and several rural areas.
