Natural gas production in Dec’20 falls short of target by 23%

New Delhi: Natural gas production during December 2020 was 2424.90 MMSCM, which was 22.94 percent lower than the monthly target and 7.11 percent lower when compared with December 2019, data sourced from the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas showed. The cumulative natural gas production during April-December 2020 was 21128.92 MMSCM, which was 13.38 percent lower than the target and 11.30 percent lower in comparison to the corresponding period of the last year.

ONGC's natural gas production misses target by 9.52%

Natural gas production by ONGC in the nomination blocks during December 2020 was 1857.73 MMSCM, which was 9.52 percent lower than the target and 7.04 percent lower when compared with December 2019. The cumulative natural gas production by ONGC during April-December 2020 was 16,544.32 MMSCM, which was 8.24 percent lower than the target and 7.67 percent lower when compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. ONGC said that output was impacted due to less gas dispatch from offshore after the Hazira plant shutdown and less off-take by customers in Cauvery asset.

OIL natural gas output 23% lower than target

Natural gas production by Oil India Limited (OIL) in the nomination block during December 2020 was 201.63 MMSCM, which was 22.89 percent lower than the monthly target and 3.10 percent higher than December 2019. Cumulative natural gas production by OIL during April-December 2020 was 1,869.83 MMSCM, which was 6.83 percent lower than the target and 8.67 percent lower in comparison to the corresponding period of the last year.

Private/JV companies miss target by 56%

Natural gas production by private/JVs companies in the PSC (production sharing contracts) regime during December 2020 was 365.55 MMSCM, which was 56.07 percent lower than the monthly target and 12.22 percent lower than December 2019. The cumulative natural gas production by private/JVs during April-December 2020 was 2,714.77 MMSCM, which was 37.69 percent lower than the target and 29.56 percent lower when compared to the corresponding period of last year.
