NHPC office complex gets 4 stars on ‘green’ rating index

New Delhi: 'Neer Shakti Sadan', NHPC's office complex in Faridabad, has been awarded Four Star GRIHA Rating by the GRIHA council. GRIHA (Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment) is a joint initiative of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), and The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI).

GRIHA is a performance-oriented system where points are earned for meeting the design and performance intent of the criteria. Each criterion has certain points assigned to it. These criteria are meant for optimising building design to reduce conventional energy demand, energy performance of building within specified comfort limits, renewable energy utilisation, reducing landscape water demand, utilisation of fly ash in building structures, water recycle and reuse etc.
