NRDC CMD receives ICC Excellence award

The award has given to NRDC CMD, Dr H Purushotham by former secretary, Dr Ajay Dua in an event held in New Delhi recently

New Delhi: National Research Development Corporation's (NRDC) CMD, Dr H Purushotham has been conferred with the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) PSE Excellence Award. The award has been presented to Dr Purushotham for his outstanding contribution in nation-building in the area of research and development (R&D) technology transfer and innovation.

The Award was presented by former secretary, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Dr Ajay Dua and former secretary, Department of Public Enterprise & Corporate Affairs, Dr Bhaskar Chatterjee in an awards function on 29 August 2019 in New Delhi. NRDC is an enterprise of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR). Dr Purushotham was appointed CMD of NRDC on January 22, 2015.

Under his leadership in the last three years, NRDC partnered with 94 research and development institutions, universities, PSUs, which are promoting innovations, entrepreneurship, incubation and startups. It has also acquired 290 technologies from these institutions, filed 95 patents and transferred (licensed) 92 innovative technologies to Start-ups and entrepreneurs, which is a major contribution to 'Start-Up India' and 'Make in India' schemes.

NRDC has assisted Start-up India Mission by evaluating about 3000 Start-ups proposals so far for their innovation content, technology and gave its recommendations for recognition and tax benefit to Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) and partnered with IndianOil Limited for implementation of their start-up scheme.
