NRDC to establish an Incubation centre for aerospace start-ups

NRDC has signed an agreement with CSIR-NAL for establishing an innovation-cum-incubation centre for aerospace start-ups

New Delhi: National Research Development Corporation (NRDC), an enterprise under Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Ministry of Science and Technology, has signed an agreement with CSIR-NAL to establish an Innovation-cum-Incubation centre with external private funding to promote start-ups in the emerging area of aerospace technologies. This information has been given by the NRDC's Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) Dr H Purushotham.

The agreement has been signed by NRDC's CMD Dr Purushotham and CSIR-NAL's Director Dr Jitendra J Jadhav and exchanged by the representatives of both the organisations in presence of DSIR's Secretary Dr Shekhar C Mande and CSIR's Director-General R Vaidheeswaran, Joint Secretay, DSIR and other senior officials of CSIR-NAL at CSIR headquarters in New Delhi on Tuesday.  Under this programme start-ups in the area of aerospace engineering would be incubated, mentored and supported for product and prototype development and their validation.

While commenting this agreement NRDC's CMD said that it is a historical day as NRDC and CSIR-NAL forged an innovative partnership to promote start-ups in the niche high tech area of aerospace engineering and this partnership may pave a way for establishing Innovation-cum-Incubation centres in other CSIR laboratories which are working in different thematic areas and it is the need of the hour to create employment opportunities to the youth of our country.
