NRL employees contribute Rs 57.37 lakh to Chief Minister Relief Fund

New Delhi: The employees of Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) have donated an amount of  Rs 57.37 lakh to the Chief Minister's  Relief of Assam. The contribution has been made at an individual level to help and strengthen the hands of the government of Assam to combat the 2nd Wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The cheque amounting to Rs. 57.37 lakh was handed over to the Chief Minister of Assam Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma at his office chamber on June 15 by a team of NRL employees led by Deputy General Manager (Corporate Communications) Madhuchanda Adhikari.

Earlier, NRL had presented Rs 5 crore for the CM's Relief Fund, Assam on May 27. The company has earmarked Rs 25 crore this year to fight the 2nd wave of the pandemic and has taken up several initiatives including a 120 bedded COVID Care facility in Jorhat Medical College and Hospital with 20 ICU beds which was inaugurated on June 14. It is also extended similar help at Majuli and providing consumables to several government hospitals in the state.
