NTPC’s Ajay Kumar set to be Director (Technical) of CMPDIL

Ajay Kumar, who is currently working as Additional General Manager in NTPC Limited, has been recommended for the post of Director (Technical) of NTPC Limited

New Delhi: Ajay Kumar is set to be the next Director (Technical) of Central Mine Planning & Design Institute Limited (CMPDIL), a PSU under the Ministry of Coal. He has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on Thursday. He is currently working as Additional General Manager in NTPC Limited, a Maharata PSU under the Ministry of Power.

Kumar has been recommended for the post of Director (Technical) of CMPDIL from a list of nine candidates who were shortlisted and interviewed by the PESB selection panel on May 5. Out of nine candidates, two candidates were from South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) and one each from Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL), Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), CMPDIL, NTPC Limited, NLC India Limited, Barmer Lignite Mining Company Limited and Jaiprakash Power Ventures Limited.

As Director (Technical) of CMPDIL, Kumar will be a member of the Board of Directors and will report to the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD). He will advise on matters relating to exploration, mines safety and technical activities.
