CEA declares NTPC Singrauli’s Unit 1 as top-performing power unit of India in Q1FY21

NTPC Singrauli's Unit 1 has emerged as the top-performing unit in the country in the first quarter of financial year 2020-21, as per the data released by Central Electricity Authority (CEA)

New Delhi: (Power Sector News) A unit at state-run NTPC Limited's Singrauli plant has emerged as the top-performing power unit in the country in the first quarter of the current financial year, as per the data released by the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) on Saturday. NTPC Singrauli is the oldest and a flagship power station of NTPC Ltd.

Unit 1 of NTPC Singrauli power station started generating power on February 13, 1982, and is still functional.

According to NTPC Limited, NTPC Singrauli has an installed capacity of 2,000 MW with five units of 200 MW each and two units of 500 MW each. Three units (1, 4 & 5) of 200 MW have achieved PLF (Plant Load Factor) of 101.96 percent, 101.85 percent and 100.35 percent, respectively, in the first quarter of the FY2020-21.
