NTPC looks to provide round-the-clock power to customers, signs pact with Greenko

NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam has signed a pact with Greenko Energies for providing round the clock (RTC) renewable energy power to potential customers in India

New Delhi: (Power Sector News) NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Limited (NVVN), a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTPC Limited, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Greenko Energies Private Limited, a Hyderabad-based renewable energy company, on August 25 for exploring the possibility of entering into an arrangement for trading, collaboration and partnership in Integrated Renewable Energy Storage Projects set up by Greenko to offer Round the Clock (RTC) renewable energy power to potential customers in India.

The pact with Greenko Energies Pvt Ltd will help the NTPC subsidiary to establish itself strongly in various segments of RTC bundled renewable power.

Greenko is among India's largest green energy developers with a 6.4 Giga Watt (GW) portfolio and is building power storage projects with a total capacity of 7.2 GW across six states in India.

With a total installed capacity of 62.9 GW, NTPC Group has 70 Power stations comprising of 24 Coal, 7 combined cycle gas & liquid fuel, 1 hydro, 13 renewables along with 25 subsidiary and JV power stations. The group has over 20 GW of capacity under construction, of which 5GW comprises of renewable energy.
