Oil India signs MoU with Assam Hydrocarbon & Energy Company (AHECL)

As per Oil India Limited (OIL), this MoU with AHECL is aimed at establishing a joint institutional framework to facilitate bilateral cooperation in hydrocarbon exploration & development and marketing of natural gas in the state of Assam

New Delhi: Oil India Limited (OIL), Navratna oil PSU, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Assam Hydrocarbon & Energy Company Limited (AHECL) in Guwahati on December 21. The MoU is aimed at establishing a joint institutional framework to facilitate bilateral cooperation in hydrocarbon exploration & development and marketing of natural gas in the state of Assam for mutual benefit.

The MoU has been signed in the presence of Chief Minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal, Minister of Hill Areas Development and Mines & Minerals, Assam Sum Ronghang and AHECL's Chairman Ponakan Baruah.

OIL's Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) SC Mishra,  Additional Chief Secretary to the Govt. of Assam & Managing Director of AHECL VS Bhaskar and Numaligarh Refinery Limited's (NRL) Managing Director SK Barua have also witnessed the signing of MoUs between the two companies.

On the occasion, Chief Minister praised the efforts of OIL and appreciated the contribution of the company in the socio-economic development of Assam. CMD of OIL SC Mishra thanked the Government of Assam for its support and guidance in enabling OIL to carry out hydrocarbon exploration, production and transportation operations in the state smoothly over the decades. He reiterated the commitment of the company in furthering the hydrocarbon exploration and production activities in the state.
