Out of 131 Vishwakarma Rashtriya Puraskar 38 goes to SAIL

Vishwakarma Rashtriya Puraskar (VRP) is a very prestigious National Award given by the Ministry of Labour, SAIL has won 25% of all the awards given for the performance year 2017

New Delhi: Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) has won 25% of prestigious Vishwakarma Rashtriya Puraskar (VRP) for the performance year 2017. In a function held at SCOPE Complex on Wednesday in New Delhi Chairman SAIL Anil Kumar Chaudhary felicitated SAIL employees who have won 7 out of the total 28 VRP awards. Out of the total 131 awardees, 38 awardees are from SAIL.

On this occasion SAIL's Director (Projects & Business Planning) Dr G. Vishawakarma, Director (Commercial) Soma Mondal, Director (Personnel) Atul Srivastava and Director (Technical) HN Rai were also present. On Tuesday Minister of State, Labour & Employment (Independent Charge), Santosh Kumar Gangwar felicitated the awardees in a function organized at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.  Out of total 38 awardees of SAIL, 19 belong to SAIL's Bhilai Steel Plant, 10 belong to SAIL's Rourkela Steel Plant and the rest 9 are from SAIL's Salem Steel Plant.

Chairman SAIL congratulated the awardees for their efforts and achievements. In his speech, Chaudhary said, "Our people are the greatest strength of our organisation. These awards are a testimony to the innovativeness, competence and sincerity of our employees. The entire SAIL family is proud of their achievements." Vishwakarma Rashtriya Puraskar (VRP) is a very prestigious National Award given by the Ministry of Labour in association with Directorate General Factory Advice Service & Labour Institutes (DG-FASLI).

VRP is awarded in recognition of outstanding suggestions given by workers or group of workers and implemented by the management, resulting in improvement in quality, productivity and working conditions such as safety, health and environment conservation in the industrial organisation.
