PESB did not find any suitable candidate for IRCTC’s CMD post

New Delhi: (PESB News) The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB), the head hunter body of the government which is responsible for the selection of personnel in the posts of Chairman, Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) and Functional Directors in the Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) has not been able to find any suitable candidate for the post of Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation (IRCTC). The selection panel's interview-cum selection meeting was held on Monday, in which a total of four candidates appeared.

"The Board did not recommend any candidates for the post. The Board further decided to recommend constituting a search committee in PESB," the PESB panel said in a notification.

There were a total of four candidates who appeared and were interviewed in the selection meeting. Candidates that appeared for the post of CMD of IRCTC were Director (Tourism & Marketing) Rajni Hasija, Group General Manager Sunil Kumar, Director (Commercial & Marketing) Piyush Tiwari from IRCTC and Principal Executive Director Ajay Kumar Singhal from Indian Railways Service of Engineers (IRSE).

The PESB had posted a vacancy for the post of Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of IRCTC through the portal in February this year. The topmost post in the Railway PSU is vacant since February 2. However, IRCTC's Director (Tourism & Marketing) Rajni Hasija is holding an additional charge of the post after Mahendra Pratap Mall's superannuation on February 2.
