PESB recommends Ranendra Sarma for NEEPCO’s Director (Technical) post

Ranendra Sarma has been recommended for the post of Director (Technical) of NEEPCO from a list of seven candidates, who were interviewed by PESB

New Delhi: Ranendra Sarma is set to be the next Director (Technical) of North Eastern Electric Power Corporation (NEEPCO) Limited, a PSU under the Ministry of Power. He has been recommended for the post by a Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on Tuesday. Presently, he is serving as Executive Director in the same organisation.

Sarma has been recommended for the post of Director (Technical) of NEEPCO from a list of seven candidates, who were interviewed by the PESB selection panel in its selection meeting held on November 1. Out of seven candidates, three candidates including Sarma, who were on the list were from NEEPCO, two candidates from NTPC Limited and two from SJVN Limited.

As Director (Technical) of NEEPCO, Sarma will be a member of the Board of Directors and will report to the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD). He will assist the CMD in all technical matters. He has to play a dual role in expanding the business horizon of the company and overseeing the overall performance with respect to the entire gamut of technical activities covering project Survey & Investigation (S&I), Detailed Project Reports (DPRs), Environment & Forest Clearances, construction and operation & maintenance of Hydro/Gas based power plants, commercials, Regulatory and Grid Code Compliances, etc.
