Power Cup 2021: Power Ministry and REC Ltd. emerge as winners in 3rd match of tournament

After completion of 3rd round league matches, the stage is now set for the two semi-final matches of Power Cup 2021, 1st semi-final match will be played between the Ministry of Power and NTPC on March 13

New Delhi: The third round of league matches of the Power Cup 2021 (Delhi) T-20 cricket tournament were held on Saturday at NMAKP Sports Complex, Jamia Milia Islamia, New Delhi and Saket Sports Complex, New Delhi. Power Cup 2021 is a T-20 cricket tournament being organised from February 20 to March 21 amongst teams from various power sector CPSUs and the Ministry of Power.

In league matches held at NMAKP Sports Complex, Power Grid won the first match against NTPC by 31 runs after NTPC scored 134 for 5 wickets against Power Grid's score of 165 for 4 wickets. In the second match, NHPC Limited won against PFC by 1 wicket after scoring 118 for 9 wickets in 14.5 overs against PFC's score of 117 for 8 wickets in 20 overs.

After the match, NHPC's Director (Projects) Biswajit Basu presented various awards such as Man of the Match, Best Striker, Best Fielder, Best Batsman, Best Bowler and Best Fighter of the Match to the players of the teams at NMAKP Sports Complex, Jamia Milia Islamia, New Delhi.

In the league matches held at Saket Sports Complex, the Ministry of Power won the first match against EESL by 152 runs after scoring 171 runs for 8 wickets and bowling EESL out for 19 runs in 6.1 overs. In the second match, REC won against POSOCO by 7 wickets after scoring 158 runs for 3 wickets against POSOCO's score of 154 runs for 9 wickets.

After completion of 3rd round league matches, the stage is now set for the two semi-final matches of Power Cup 2021. The first semi-final will be played between the Ministry of Power and NTPC on March 13. The second semi-final will be played between PFC and Power Grid on March 14.
