POWERGRID receives PMI India award 2019

PMI India award 2019 was presented to the POWERGRID for its contribution to the community for improving rural livelihood through its Watershed Management Project

Hyderabad: PMI India Award for PGCIL. Powergrid Corporation Limited (POWERGRID), a Navratna company under the Ministry of Power, has received the Project Management Institute (PMI) India Awards 2019. The PMI India award was presented by General VP Malik (Retd), the Army Chief during the Kargil war, to Powergrid at 'PMI India Awards 2019' in contribution to community category for improving rural livelihood through Integrated Watershed Management Project at a program held at Hyderabad.

What is Integrated Watershed Management Project?

Integrated Watershed Management Programme (IWMP) is a government project and implemented by the Department of Land Resources of the Ministry of Rural Development. The main objective of IWMP to improve the country's productive potential and ecological balance by harnessing, conserving and developing degraded natural resources such as soil, vegetative cover and water.
