Rajat Sud is the new Managing Director of EESL

Rajat Sud has taken over as the new Managing Director of EESL (Energy Efficiency Services Limited) on Wednesday

New Delhi: Rajat Sud has taken over as new Managing Director (MD) of Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) of Wednesday. He has taken over from EESL's Director (Commercial) S Gopal, who was on the additional charge of the Interim Managing Director. Prior to this, Sud was serving as executive vice president at Sterlite Power Transmission Limited, a leading global developer of power transmission infrastructure company.

Rajat Sud's profile

Sud is an alumnus of St. Edward's School. He is an engineering graduate (BE in Electronics & Telecommunication) from Shri Govindram Seksaria Institute of Technology and Science (SGSITS), Indore. He had also completed a post-graduate diploma in management (Strategy) from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. He has 29 years of experience in the fields of energy sector restructuring, performance improvement, business strategy and acquisitions. He has led transformational reforms and restructuring programs – leading to structural change dramatic performance improvement in the electricity industry.  Prior to joining Sterlite Power, he had served Lumeni Consulting, Korn Ferry, Siemens (SISL), PwC and NTPC Limited.

Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) is a Super Energy Service Company (ESCO), which enables consumers, industries and governments to effectively manage their energy needs through energy-efficient technologies. EESL is implementing the world's largest energy efficiency portfolio across sectors like lighting, buildings, electric mobility, smart metering, agriculture, etc. at a scale which no organization has been able to achieve. EESL's energy efficiency solutions have saved India over 47 billion kWh energy annually while reducing 36.5 million tonnes of carbon emission. EESL is promoted by Ministry of Power as a Joint Venture of four PSUs namely – NTPC Limited, PFC Limited, REC Limited and POWERGRID.
