New Delhi: Ministry of Power has Ram Dass Dhiman (IAS) as part-time Government Nominee Director on the Board of SJVN Limited. He has been appointed to the post with effect from June 22, till the pleasure of the President. He is currently serving as Additional Chief Secretary (Power) of the Government of Himachal Pradesh. This information has been shared by SJVN Limited in a regulatory filing to the stock exchange on Wednesday.
Dhiman is a 1988 batch, Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officer of the Himachal Pradesh cadre. He holds a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and Post Graduate degree in Governance & Development. In addition, he has acquired training and experience in diverse areas of Management from various prestigious educational and administrative Institutions of the country and abroad.
Senior IAS officer has a vast experience of over 30 years and has served on many important administrative positions in Himachal Pradesh state government like – Additional Chief Secretary of Revenue, Agriculture, Forest and Language Art & Culture; Principal Secretary of Industries, Labour & Employment, Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Social Justice & Empowerment, Industries, Education, Agriculture; Chairman & Managing Director & Member (Admn.) of HP State Electricity Board; Managing Director of HP Power Corporation Ltd., Electronics Dev Corporation, HP Financial Corporation, State Industrial Development Corporation; Secretary of Rural Development & Panchyati Raj etc.
SJVN Limited, a Miniratna PSU under the administrative control of the Ministry of Power, was incorporated on May 24, 1988, as a joint venture of the government and the state government of Himachal Pradesh. SJVN is now a listed company having a shareholders pattern of 61.93 percent with government 26.85 percent with the government of Himachal Pradesh and rest of 11.22 percent with Public, according to the company's website.
