Ravi Kant is new Regional Executive Director of AAI, NER

Ravi Kant has joined as the new Regional Executive Director (North Eastern Region) at Regional Head Quarters of Airports Authority of India (AAI), Guwahati

New Delhi: Ravi Kant has joined as the new Regional Executive Director (North Eastern Region) at Regional Head Quarters of Airports Authority of India (AAI), Guwahati. He was given charge of the post on May 24 and has assumed the charge on Monday. Kant is a qualified Engineer in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering. He joined AAI in the year 1990 and held various positions at different airports namely New Delhi, Khajuraho, Indore, Mumbai and Guwahati.

Kant is an Air-Navigation-Services technical expert and has vast experience of over three decades in planning, operation and maintenance of CNS facilities, Airport systems & information technology systems in AAI. He is instrumental in the installation and commissioning of navigational aids like Instrument Landing System, VHF Omni Range and Distance Measuring equipment etc. at various airports in India.

During his tenure at the corporate headquarters, New Delhi as General Manager (CNS), he was responsible for the operation and maintenance of various Navigational and Surveillance facilities which play a vital role in safe navigation and surveillance of aircrafts.

Kant is a member of the surveillance panel in the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), which provides technical inputs for developing international standards & recommended practices and guidance material with regard to surveillance of the aircrafts while in the air or at the ground.

"Kant is of the strong opinion and belief that though North East Region has tough work situations due to geographical and weather conditions, it also has vast potential for growth in terms of air passengers and air cargo movement" mentioned a press statement issued by AAI. Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) conceptualised by the Prime Minister is a boon to North Eastern Region to connect remote locations by air and he is committed to give the required Impetus to the scheme, it added.

"As he is known to take up and convert challenges into achievements, he is very confident that he will be able to generate momentum for the ongoing AAI projects including upcoming greenfield airports, heliports & water aerodromes in NER with the cooperation and support of all stakeholders", the statement concluded.
