Ravindra Kumar Jain (IRSE) gets ACC clearance as the new Managing Director of DFCCIL

New Delhi: Ravindra Kumar Jain (IRSE) is the new Managing Director (MD) of DFCCIL (Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited), a PSU under the Ministry of Railways. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved his appointment on November 28. Jain is an Indian Railways Engineering Service (IRSE) officer. He is currently serving as Chief Administrative Officer (Construction) in Eastern Railways. According to an order from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), he has been appointed to the post for a period with effect from the date of assumption of the charge of the post till July 31, 2024, i.e. the date of his superannuation, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. With his new assignment, Jain will replace RN Singh, who is serving on the post since August 1.

Earlier, PSU Watch had reported that Jain was recommended for the post of Managing Director of DFCCIL by a PESB panel on July 25. He was selected for the post from a list of eight candidates who were interviewed by the selection panel.

Ravindra Jain's education & background

Jain is an Indian Railways Service of Engineers (IRSE) officer of Rajasthan. He has done Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Civil Engineering from Malaviya Regional Engineering College (MREC), Jaipur and a Master's in Technology (M.Tech) in Environmental Engineering Technology from IIT, Roorkee. Jain has a long experience of close to three decades in various construction Projects in Indian railway.

New role & responsibilities  

As Managing Director of DFCCIL, Jain will be responsible for all the activities of the corporation including personnel, financial and commercial management, corporate planning and project implementation. He also will be responsible for the effectiveness of the organisation in the pursuit of the company's current objectives, including the recovery of the outstanding from various defaulting business associates.

Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL)

The Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL) is a Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) corporation run by the government under the Ministry of Railways to undertake planning, development, and mobilisation of financial resources and construction, maintenance and operation of the dedicated freight corridors. The DFCCIL was registered as a company under the companies act 1956 in 2006.
