RINL-VSP bags top awards at the International Convention on Quality Control Circles

New Delhi: The International Convention on Quality Control Circles (ICQCC-2020), organised by the 'Bangladesh Society for Total Quality Management (BSTQM)' was held at Dhaka, Bangladesh from December 1 to December 3. More than 250 teams from various countries including China, Philippines, Singapore, Indonesia, South Korea, Bangladesh, and Srilanka etc. participated in the competition.

Three LQC teams from Vizag Steel Plant (VSP) i.e. "AMPS" from Blast Furnace, "Yantrik" from CO&CCP and "New Wings" from LMMM presented their case studies in a virtual mode in the competition conducted during the convention. While, all the teams bagged 'Platinum,' the topmost award at the convention, the 1st prize in the stream was bagged by the team "AMPS" from Blast Furnace among all 'Platinum' awardees internationally.

QC team 'AMPS' of Blast Furnace consisting of K Chandrasekhar, MV Ramana Murty, Ahammad Valli, PM Satyanarayana and M Appala Raju presented their case study on 'Replacement of encoder with striker cam switch in Mudgun Slew Mechanism.'

The QC team 'Yantrik' of CO&CCP consisting of W Murali Krishna Rao, V Ghanshyam Prasad, G Padma Kumar, D Rama Rao and B Bhaskara Rao presented their case study on "Modification of Window Lifting Mechanism in Pusher car-1."

QC team 'New Wings' of LMMM consisting of P Venkanna Rao, D Rama Krishna, B Kushal Krishna, T Govinda Rao and K Satyanarayana presented their case study on 'optimization and constancy of bundle weight for reducing production delays and Rake retention time.'

RINL-VSP's Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) PK Rath congratulated the winners for their innovative approach at the workplace and for bringing the laurels to the organisation.

RINL-VSP's Director (Operations) AK Saxena congratulated the winners and exhorted them to strive with the same approach to debottleneck the issues at the shop floor.
