New Delhi: S Sakthimani has taken charge as Director (Finance) of FACT Limited with effect from March 8. Prior to this, he was serving as Director (Finance) of Cement Corporation of India Limited (CCI). According to an earlier order from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) Sakthimani has been appointed to the post for a period of five years, or till the date of his superannuation, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. With this assignment, he has replaced A Ganesan, who was working in the same capacity since August 28, 2019.
Earlier, PSU Watch had reported that Sakthimani was recommended for the post of Director (Finance) of FACT Limited by a PESB panel on February 19. He was selected from a list of three candidates, who were interviewed by the selection panel.
Sakthimani is a Bachelor of Science (B Sc in Metallurgy) from the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Jamshedpur, and holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Madras. In addition to this, he is a qualified Cost and Management Accountant from the Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India (ICWAI). Sakthimani's hands-on experience varies from core R&D to corporate board. He has experience in strategic planning, finance & accounts, corporate affairs, operations, quality assurance and auditing. He also worked for the implementation of ISO systems in financial management and personnel management with inbuilt controls. Prior to joining CCI Limited, he had worked with Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), Usha Martin and Tata Steel Limited.
