Sanjay Kumar Singh set to be Director (Technical) of BCCL

New Delhi: Sanjay Kumar Singh is set to be the next Director (Technical) of Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL), a Miniratna PSU under the Ministry of Coal. He has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on Friday. He is currently serving as General Manager in the Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL).

Singh has been recommended for the post of Director (Technical) of BCCL from a list of seven candidates who were interviewed by the selection panel. There were a total of two candidates, including Singh, who were from ECL, two candidates were from Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL) and one each from Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) and Jaiprakash Power Ventures Limited.

As Director (Technical) of BCCL, Singh will be a member of the Board of Directors and will report to the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD). He will be responsible for the operation of mines and also for field activities, technical functions and safety of mines.

Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) is a subsidiary of Coal India Limited (CIL) with its headquarters in Dhanbad. The company was incorporated in January 1972 to operate coking coal mines (214) operating in the Jharia and Raniganj Coalfields and was taken over by the government on October 16, 1971.
