SCOPE & GIZ-Germany sign MoU to support PSUs in climate change mitigation

SCOPE and GIZ-Germany have signed an MoU for supporting the PSUs in playing a critical role in the national agenda of climate change mitigation

New Delhi: In continuation of its endeavour towards gearing the Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) towards climate change agenda, an MoU has been signed between SCOPE's Director General Atul Sobti and GIZ's, a German public-benefit federal enterprise, Country Director Dr Julie Reviere for supporting the PSUs in playing a critical role in the national agenda of climate change mitigation. GAIL (India) Limited's Director (Business Development) and Chairman of SCOPE Committee on Sustainable Development MV Iyer and GIZ India's Director (Climate Change) Dr Ashish Chaturvedi other senior officials of GIZ, SCOPE and Public Sector were present during the MoU signing.

While the earlier association was more centric towards building capacities in PSEs, the present MoU signed by SCOPE and GIZ seeks to explore and support the implementation of studies and pilots in the Public Sector Undertakings on climate and sustainable development related issues. Signed virtually, the collaboration shall engage in a series of activities in the areas of SDGs, carbon markets and climate finance amongst other issues pertaining to climate change mitigation.
