SJVN is now a corporate member of International Solar Alliance (ISA)

The ISA membership will allow SJVN to get associated with various projects/ schemes/ events of the International Solar Alliance

New Delhi: SJVN Limited's Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) Nand Lal Sharma has presented a cheque of Rs.7.4 crore to International Solar Alliance's (ISA) Director General Upendra Tripathy in the presence of Power Minister RK Singh to join as Corporate Member of International Solar Alliance (ISA). On this occasion, SJVN Limited's Director (Civil) SP Bansal and Director (Finance) AK Singh were also present.

Sharma said that this prestigious membership will provide SJVN a global platform to garner cooperation amongst member countries to enhance the use of solar energy in a safe, convenient, affordable, equitable and sustainable manner. He further said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had recently called for connecting solar energy supply across borders, with the mantra of 'One Sun, One World, One Grid' (OSOWOG). ISA is the only International body with an exclusive focus on solar energy. Till date, 67 countries have ratified the Framework Agreement of ISA and 86 countries have signed the agreement.

Sharma said that now SJVN would get associated with various projects/ schemes/ events of ISA as its corporate member, which will provide both brand visibility and business benefits to SJVN. The benefits will be of immediate and long-term nature, which include updates on the latest technologies, research and developments innovation and opportunities for business expansion in various other countries. SJVN has set aggressive targets for capacity addition in the coming years.

The International Solar Alliance (ISA) was conceived as a coalition of solar-resource-rich countries to address their energy needs. The objective of the International Solar Alliance (ISA) is to work for the efficient harnessing of solar energy to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and it aims to support the member counties and other international organisations in their efforts towards achievement of universal energy access and combating climate change.
