New Delhi/Shimla: SJVN is organising 26th Inter CPSU Chess & Bridge Tournament under the aegis of Power Sports Control Board, Ministry of Power. SJVN's Director (Finance) AK Singhon Saturday inaugurated the tournament in the august presence of Chief General Manager (HR)DP Kaushal at Hotel Holiday Home, Shimla. The event will conclude on March 15.
During the opening ceremony of the event, Singh said that SJVN has always endeavoured to promote sports and this tournament will help the players to develop their competitive spirits and analytical minds while displaying spirit of sportsmanship.
Eighteen teams, 10 men's & 03 women's teams for chess, and 8 Men's teams for bridge from various PSUs including Ministry of Power, CEA, REC Limited, Power Grid, NHPC, THDC, DVC, BBMB, PFC and SJVN are participating in the tournament.
SJVN is organising the 'Chess & Bridge Tournament' in association with Chess Association & Bridge Association, Himachal Pradesh. The rules of Bridge Federation of India and FIDE Laws of Chess respectively shall be followed during the tournament.
Power Sports Control Board (PSCB) is a sports board formed by Central Power Sector Undertakings (CPSU) and is patronised by the Ministry of Power to promote sports activities. Presently 13 CPSUs, Central Electricity Authority and Ministry of Power are the members of this board.
