SJVN power stations clock highest-ever monthly power generation

Two power stations of SJVN Limited have set new records for the highest ever generation in the month of July 2021 by surpassing all previous records

New Delhi: SJVN has set new records for the highest ever generation in the month of July 2021. Two of SJVN Limited's major power stations, the 1,500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station and the 412 MW Rampur Hydro Power Station have achieved the highest monthly power generation.

Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station has achieved the highest monthly power generation, surpassing its previous record of 1,213.101 million units (MT) to 1,216.565 MT on July 31. Nathpa Jhakri is the country's largest underground Power-House.

Similarly, the Rampur Hydro Power Station also generated 335.9057 Million Units of power in the month of July 2021, beating its previous best 333.6951 Million Units in July 2020.

The design energy of 1,500 MW Nathpa Jhakri is 6,612 Million Units and 412 MW Rampur HPS is 1,878 MU, while these power stations generated 7,445 Million Units and 2098 Million Units respectively.

SJVN started with a single hydro project in the year 1988 and today, the company has a portfolio of 9,000 MW, out of which 2016.5 MW is under operation, 3,156 MW is under construction, 4,046 MW projects are in the pipeline. Today, SJVN has footprints in nine states India, and in 2 countries abroad. The company has also diversified in other fields of energy generation and transmission. SJVN is vigorously marching forward for achieving an installed capacity of 5,000 MW by 2023, 12,000 MW by 2030, and 25,000 MW by the year 2040.
